The other day a fellow writer asked me how I write sad scenes in my books?
I had to stop and think about that for a moment.
Firstly, I think I prepare for it… by that I mean, I write to a book plan, so I know when an emotionally taxing scene is coming up. And I listen to my character’s voice feeling the sadness – not me, after all it’s their story not mine.
But, I also like to support myself through the process and I do this by listening to classical music and drinking many soothing cups of #madameflavour ‘s Sultry Chai.
After the writing I might cleanse my aura or take a shower to be free of the characters emotions and come into being me again.
