Visitors often ask where many of the recipes served in the Café come from.
The answer is surprisingly simple.
A good number of them arrive from a well-loved volume kept on a flour-dusted shelf in the Kitchen:

Part recipe book, part collection of good intentions, and part reminder that everyday acts can carry extraordinary meaning, it has become something of a favourite among those who understand that nourishment comes in many forms.
Some recipes are designed to comfort.
Some are designed to celebrate.
Some are designed for those days when courage has gone missing and needs a little encouragement to come home.
All are best prepared with generosity, attention, and the occasional angelic blessing.
The Kitchen maintains that recipes are about far more than ingredients.
A cake can be a thank you.
A biscuit can be an apology.
A loaf of bread can be hope.
And a pot of tea shared at the right moment has been known to perform small miracles.
