Hello Dear one,
A review arrived today between the kitchen and the bookshelf.
Wish Bombs, Baking Spells and Recipes feels like the kind of book that invites us to slow down and find a little magic in things you already do. I really liked how it doesn’t make magic feel complicated or mysterious, but instead connects it with baking, herbs, intention, memories, and simple everyday rituals.
The idea of turning ordinary moments into something meaningful is what stood out to me most. The Wish Bombs, baking spells, and recipes each have their own charm, while the recipes themselves add a lovely sense of place through Maggie’s travels and the different cafés she visits.
What I enjoyed most is the warmth behind the book. It feels less like a traditional recipe collection and more like a gentle companion encouraging you to be present, creative, and intentional with the little things. You don’t have to believe in magic to appreciate what the book is trying to say—sometimes simply making something with care can feel magical enough.
A cosy, thoughtful, and quietly enchanting read for anyone who loves baking, rituals, travel, and finding beauty in everyday moments.
