The Atelier

Dear one,
Some rooms announce themselves.
The Atelier was never one of them.
You won't find it on the original floor plan. No sign hangs above the door, and nobody seems entirely certain when it appeared. Some insist it was always there. Others are convinced it emerges only when needed.
Its tables are scattered with notebooks, sketches, half-finished ideas, questions without answers, and projects still finding their shape.
Writers arrive carrying fragments of stories.
Artists arrive carrying fragments of themselves.
Sometimes people come simply because they have begun something and do not yet know what it is becoming.
The Atelier welcomes them all.
Nothing here is required to be finished.
Nothing here is expected to be perfect.
The coffee grows cold. The tea is reheated.

Pages are crossed out. New pages begin.

Threads lost long ago are occasionally found again.

If the Back Table is where unfinished thoughts are welcome, then the Atelier is where they are invited to stay a while.
You may discover a painting waiting for colour.
A recipe waiting for its final ingredient.
A conversation waiting for the right words.
Or perhaps a version of yourself that has been quietly waiting to emerge.
Take a seat.
Bring whatever you are making.
Or whatever is making you.
There is room here for both.
