Welcome!
One of the pleasures of keeping an inn is watching what happens after the journey.
Travellers arrive with stories. They share them by the fire, over tea, beneath the stars, and sometimes in the quiet corners where reflections are exchanged as freely as laughter. The tale told at the beginning of an evening is rarely the same tale that exists by morning. New insights emerge, different perspectives are offered, and connections are discovered that no one expected.
Books are much the same.
A story may begin with an author, but it truly comes alive when readers bring their own experiences, questions, memories, and observations to its pages. Long after a novel has been closed, the conversation often continues.
With that thought in mind, I am delighted to announce a new collection of Book Club and Reader Guides, now being added to the website.
These downloadable guides have been created for readers who enjoy lingering a little longer in a story's world. Within them, you'll find questions, themes, reflections, and conversation prompts designed to deepen engagement with the novels and the ideas they explore. Whether you belong to a formal book club, gather with friends, or simply enjoy reflecting on a story on your own, the guides offer an invitation to look beyond the final page.
New guides will be added as they are completed, creating a growing library of resources across the various series and standalone works. Some discussions may lead you toward history, others toward art, memory, family, friendship, mystery, hope, or the unseen threads that connect lives across time and place.
There are, of course, no right answers.
Every reader arrives carrying a different lantern.
One may notice a forgotten detail. Another may recognise a historical echo. A third may discover something of themselves within the story. Together, these observations create a richer tapestry than any one reader could weave alone.
So, if you've ever finished a book and wished you had someone to discuss it with, consider this your invitation.
The doors of the Celestial Inn are open.
Come in. Pull up a chair. Share a thought or question. The journey may have ended, but the conversation is only beginning.
